INTERN

Unpaid. Unstoppable.

The intern: a round blue head with bloodshot eyes, an oversized navy suit, a TEMP badge, raising a coffee.

The intern's ID badge photo.
TEMP

Nobody remembers hiring him.

He showed up on a Monday with a lanyard nobody printed and a coffee nobody bought him. HR has no file. Payroll has no name. The badge just says TEMP.

No desk by the window. No invite to the offsite. No idea what he actually does here. He shows up anyway, every single day, before anyone else and long after they leave.

Rate the intern. Be honest. It changes nothing.

Notes: ________________________________

Every room has one.

A boardroom of faceless suits; the blue intern sits at the head of the table with a coffee under a rising chart.

Seven suits. One chart. Zero names. The intern took the only seat left, which happened to be at the head of the table. Nobody said anything. The chart went up.

A million suits.
One of them is blue.

A crowd of identical black suits crosses the street at sunrise; one blue intern walks among them with a coffee. An endless line of faceless suits with briefcases; the intern stands in it, looking sideways.

Six o'clock. Everyone logs off.

The floor empties one row at a time. The sun sinks behind the towers. The intern puts his head down for one minute, knocks the coffee over, and stays exactly where he is.

The intern asleep on his desk in an empty sunset office, coffee spilled beside him.
The intern at his desk writing a report under a huge red chart going down.

Red candles. Same plan tomorrow.

The chart goes down. The intern writes it down. The chart goes up. The intern writes that down too.

Nobody asked for the report. Nobody will read the report. He files it anyway, stamps it, and goes back to watching the candles.

Markets never sleep. Neither does he.

An empty dark office at 02:37 AM; only the intern's monitor is lit.

No salary. No equity. No vacation days.

Just a lanyard, a cold coffee and a chart that never closes.

Unpaid. Unstoppable.
